Andy specialises in hydration testing and fuelling for endurance athletes. He trained in advanced sweat testing to provide additional support to his clients and now offers the same expertise to a wide range of athletes, from novices to World Tour cyclists, pro triathlon champions and professional boxers.

In his practice, Andy has found that most athletes understand why fuel and hydration are vital to performance, but one of the most common mistakes they make is knowing exactly how and when to take that fuel and hydration on board.

Understanding that there isn't a one-size-fits-all approach is core to Andy's method.

Often seen on the Big Island of Hawaii, Andy still dabbles in Ironman triathlon and loves to train and compete.

Jack Rootkin-Gray

Jack Rootkin-Gray

Professional Cyclist & Coach

Jack Rootkin-Gray is a British professional cyclist and coach, having spent two seasons racing at WorldTour level with EF Education-EasyPost before returning to the UCI ranks in 2026 with Italian Continental outfit Swatt Club.

Read full biography of Jack Rootkin-Gray

Jack’s progression through the sport has given him first-hand experience of what it takes to develop from the British domestic scene to the highest level of professional cycling. Before turning professional, he raced with British Continental team Saint Piran, combining the realities of domestic racing with the demands of developing towards WorldTour level.

Throughout this period, Jack worked closely with Craig Stevenson and the Elite Edge team, who supported his coaching, physiological development and performance preparation as he progressed towards the professional ranks. That relationship became particularly important following the serious leg fracture Jack sustained in 2025, an injury that initially threatened his professional career. Working alongside Craig and Elite Edge, Jack followed a structured rehabilitation and performance programme that helped take him from significant injury back to racing competitively in the UCI peloton.

That journey gives Jack a valuable perspective as a coach. He has experienced both the fully supported WorldTour environment and the reality faced by athletes who must balance ambitious sporting goals around work, family, limited time and other commitments.

Jack has now been coaching athletes for seven years, working with a broad range of performers including National Champions, domestic Elite riders and ambitious amateur athletes. His coaching experience spans road and track cycling as well as athletes competing in rowing and HYROX.

He particularly enjoys working with athletes who want to perform at a high level without having the time or resources of a full-time professional. His approach focuses on making every element of training purposeful, using intelligent programming, clear communication and practical experience to maximise the return from the time an athlete has available.

Now combining UCI-level racing with his role within the Elite Edge coaching team, Jack brings current professional racing experience alongside the wider expertise and multidisciplinary support available through Elite Edge. His aim is not simply to make athletes fitter, but to build the confidence, understanding and consistency required to produce performances they may previously have thought were beyond them.
