Tim is a GP with a particular interest in sports physiology, athlete health and endurance performance, providing advisory medical insight within the Elite Edge team.
Biography
Tim is a General Practitioner with a particular interest in sports physiology, athlete health and endurance performance. He studied Medicine at the University of Bristol and brings a broad clinical perspective to the Elite Edge multidisciplinary team.
Within Elite Edge, Tim takes on an advisory medical role, helping ensure that athlete health remains central to the performance process. He has supported multiple athletes through different stages of their sporting journeys, helping them navigate the interaction between health, training load, recovery and performance.
His involvement strengthens Elite Edge’s ability to take a genuinely multidisciplinary approach to athlete development, providing medical insight alongside physiology, biomechanics, strength and conditioning, nutrition, psychology and coaching. This is particularly valuable where illness, injury, recovery, medication or wider health considerations may influence an athlete’s ability to train and perform.
Alongside his civilian medical career, Tim also serves as a Reservist Medical Officer in the Armed Forces, further developing his experience of working in demanding environments where sound clinical judgement and practical decision-making are essential.
Outside of medicine, Tim is a keen endurance athlete himself, competing in Ironman triathlon, cross-country and gravel cycling. His own experience of training and racing gives him an additional understanding of the practical demands faced by endurance athletes, with a personal ambition to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships.
